Pakistan's Brain drain situation hastened in 2022: Know the reasons why

According to a recent report, approximately 765,000 educated youth in Pakistan have left the country in search of employment opportunities overseas. This trend, known as brain drain, has significant implications for the country's economic and social development.

Brain drain refers to the migration of highly skilled and educated individuals from one country to another, typically in search of better job prospects and higher salaries. In the case of Pakistan, the majority of these young professionals are seeking employment in countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Canada.

The phenomenon of brain drain is not unique to Pakistan and has been observed in many developing countries around the world. However, the extent of the problem in Pakistan is particularly acute, with a significant portion of the country's educated youth choosing to leave in search of better opportunities abroad.

There are a number of factors that contribute to this trend, including a lack of job opportunities and low salaries in Pakistan, as well as a lack of government support for entrepreneurship and innovation. Additionally, many young professionals in Pakistan are attracted to the prospect of working in more developed countries with better infrastructure and higher standards of living.

The consequences of brain drain for Pakistan are significant. The loss of educated and skilled young professionals has a negative impact on the country's economic development and competitiveness. It also means that the country is losing a valuable resource in terms of human capital, which is essential for driving innovation and progress.

There are steps that the government and private sector can take to address the problem of brain drain in Pakistan. These include investing in education and training programs to prepare young professionals for the job market, supporting entrepreneurship and innovation, and offering competitive salaries and benefits to attract and retain top talent.

In conclusion, the trend of 765,000 educated youth leaving Pakistan for employment opportunities overseas is a significant problem with far-reaching consequences for the country's economic and social development. It is important for the government and private sector to take action to address the root causes of brain drain and create a more attractive and supportive environment for young professionals in Pakistan.

Ronaldo vs Messi : Who is the G.O.A.T of Football?

G.O.A.T is an acronym that stands for Greatest Of All Time. The label is reserved for players regarded as the best in their sports or their teams. In addition to exceptional talent, the individual must maintain a consistently high level of achievement to be considered the GOAT.

The G.O.A.T. debate between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will probably always be there. The question of who is the greatest player ever is one of the biggest debates in football, just like the famous Pelé vs Diego Maradona debate

before it. The question of who is better between the Portuguese phenomenon and the empyrean Argentine has dominated the minds of football fans everywhere for the past decade and so but Messi's world cup win has sparked this debate among football fans questioning if Messi and Ronaldo's debate is over now?  for that, we would have to look back at their football careers, their achievements, and the impact they had put and still continues to put on this game.

MESSI VS RONALDO:

GOALS:

What really made this rivalry catch fire was their incredible, unprecedented goalscoring rates, with both Messi and Ronaldo averaging more than one goal every game at their peaks. During the 9 years, Ronaldo spent at Real Madrid, Messi and Ronaldo both scored a goal every 85 minutes in all competitions. The adjacency of their goalscoring - matching each other blow for blow - has been astounding over the years.

Ronaldo still has more all-time career goals than Messi though (Ronaldo has 819 career goals and Messi has 793 career goals), but Ronaldo has played 142 more games over his career than Messi has.

Although Messi shades the overall ratio, Ronaldo spent more of his formative years as a more traditional right winger, only really starting to focus on goalscoring as his primary function in 2006, 3-4 years into his career. For Messi, it was 2-3 years until he completed the transformation from a nippy winger into a player hungry for goals above everything else. If we take these differing beginnings into account, the ratios would be even closer.

ASSISTS:

When it comes to assists, there's only one winner. Lionel Messi's playmaking abilities are right up there with the very best, and he has the numbers to prove it.

Messi has racked up an impressive 350 assists in 1003 career appearances, compared to Ronaldo's 234 assists in 1145 games.

However, because Messi has a clear ascendancy when it comes to assists, this often leads people to fall into the trap of underestimating Ronaldo's proficiency in this area. Ronaldo's assist numbers are still extremely impressive compared to the other mere mortals that play the beautiful game.

In fact, Ronaldo has more in the Champions League, with 42 assists to Messi's 40 assists - granted Ronaldo has played 26 more matches than Messi, but this is still an impressive tally.

INDIVIDUAL AWARDS:

Ronaldo and Messi have each won the Ballon d'Or, which is awarded to the best player in the world. Messi has won it seven times as compared to Ronaldo's five times. No other player in history has won more than 3! If Messi or Ronaldo didn't have each other to compete with for the award over the years, it's not inconceivable that one of them could have picked up the award 10 times or more.

In terms of UEFA's top awards, it's Ronaldo that has the edge with 4 awards (1x UEFA Club Footballer of the Year, 2x UEFA Best Player in Europe, 1x UEFA Men's Player of the Year) to Messi's 3 awards (1x UEFA Club Footballer of the Year, 2x UEFA Best Player in Europe).

In terms of golden boots, Messi has finished as the league's top scorer 8 times, winning the European Golden Shoe on 6 of those occasions. Ronaldo has finished as the top scorer in the league 5 times (once in the Premier League, once in Serie A, and 3 times in La Liga), winning 4 European Golden Shoes in the process.

Ronaldo has won the Puskas award for best goal in a calendar year (2 nominations), whereas Messi has so far failed to win this award despite being nominated 7 times.

Messi has however won the Golden Ball, awarded to the player of the tournament at the World Cup, on two occasions - once in 2014 when he took his side to the final and again in 2022 where he was triumphant. He has also been named Copa America's Best Player on two occasions, and Best Young Player once.

TROPHIES:

When it comes to trophies, Messi has the overall lead, with 42 trophies compared to Ronaldo’s 34, including Messi’s 2008 Olympic gold medal and 2005 FIFA U-20 World Cup title.

On the international stage, Messi has won both the Copa América and the FIFA World Cup with Argentina. Ronaldo, meanwhile, has won the European Championship and UEFA Nations League with Portugal.

At club level, Messi has also won more league titles, with 11 compared to Ronaldo’s seven. However, Ronaldo has the edge in the Champions League, a competition where his performances have earned him the nickname “Mr. Champions League.”

Ronaldo has won the Champions League five times, compared to Messi’s four. He is also the competition’s all-time leading goalscorer, having enjoyed some of his best European nights with Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Messi is not far behind, though, and has also left his mark on the competition. Ronaldo also holds the record for the most Champions League appearances, having overtaken former Real Madrid and Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

ON INTERNATIONAL LEVEL:

Ronaldo has the most number of goals in the history of international football and has reached 2 major international finals with Portugal, winning one of these at the 2016 European Championships, and losing the other at Euro 2004. He also won the UEFA Nations League with Portugal.

Talking about Ronaldo's better goalscoring record, we can not ignore that Messi has more individual accolades (4 Best Player awards at major tournaments - the most in history), and has now won both the Copa America and World Cup.

These were the major aspects of performances discussed to measure the careers of the two football legends Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Though football fans and pundits have applauded Messi's performance in the recent world cup 2022, they still believe that his winning the world cup still doesn't settle this debate as both the stars have shared this stage for almost 15 years which has never happened in the history of football. With each passing moment, the presence of their favorite stars on the football field is becoming less guaranteed and fans realize that as a whole. It wouldn't be wrong to say that we should just enjoy them both ending their careers at the highest instead of comparing them.
